I have a lot of projects in process right now… signs, pillows, flowers, and all sorts of other goodies for a craft show/boutique I’ll be selling in. It all has to be ready by Monday so I have a lot to do! I also completely rearranged my guest/craft room last night. Anyone else find that it’s easier to rearrange a room than just clean it? I love the new set up, but I still have more work to do before I can show it to you. I also have a bunch of ideas rolling around in my mind for possible entries in So You Think You’re Crafty if I make it on. But those have to remain a secret. If you haven’t voted yet, head on over!
So I thought I’d show you the project that got me started on all the accessories I’ve been making lately…
Nolan and I are a part of a small group from our church on Sunday evenings. The fifth grade daughter of another couple in the group watches Jace in the basement of the house we meet in. He loves her and she’s so sweet with him! We don’t pay her anything (lack of room in the budget), but her mom says that’s fine because she needs experience to build her resume as a babysitter. I thought it would be fun to give her a little something since we appreciate her help so much. She’s sweet and quiet and shy, but clearly a girly girl. And it turns out purple is her favorite color!
I cut out six circles of a satin like material in different sizes, melted the edges and glued them together at the center of each circle. A black button in the middle was the perfect finishing touch. Felt was used to attach the flower to a headband I bought.
And, of course, I had to try it on myself. I think I may need to make a few for me!
