This week my time in So You Think You’re Crafty has come to a close. It was a tough round, but I loved watching how the votes were so much closer than they typically are. My project was the Just-My-Size Kids’ Table.
I really am fine that it didn’t get voted on—while I love the way it turned out, there are other things I could have added to it to make it more original or unique. But, as I explained in this post, we just needed to get out of Home Depot and complete to project. And while it is sad to be done, I’m relieved to not have a deadline hanging over me. I’m still going to make what I would have for the final round—because it’s going to be incredible! And now for the concession speech…
Being a part of SYTYC has been so great! I feel like I can walk away very proud of how I did—top three isn’t shabby! I stretched my creativity, made crafts within my means and time (most projects were made and photographed in just one or two days), and challenged myself to use various mediums and not stay in the comfy spot at my sewing machine. Plus, it was a lot of fun interacting with the other contestants—especially Tone and Shannon. And, just to get silly here, the third place prize is pretty great!
Now, for the sake of sentimentality, let’s look back at my projects for SYTYC…
Audition—Organized Week Dry Erase Board
Week 1—Inspiration Station
Week 2—The Ultimate Activity Book
Week 3—Blue Gate Knock Off
Week 5—Morning Glory
Week 7—Kids Can Sew Nesting Book
Week 8—Just My Size Child’s Table
Thanks so much for all your support throughout this competition! Good luck Tone and Kate! I look forward to seeing what you make for the finals!
