This week’s challenge is Shoe Revamp.
I bought this pair of wedges last summer. I love that they don’t have an outrageously high heel (at 5’8” I tend to stay away from super tall shoes). I love the woven jute, the peep toe and the sling back. I think the bows are cute, but sometimes I just don’t love them as much as the rest of the shoe.
When I bought them, I figured I could easily take the bows off. But never go around to it. Until this week that is!
I made some simple shoe clips and now can wear these wedges five ways!
I just used some gray cotton fabric and folded these rosettes.
These puff flowers make me happy. They are made with a bunch of circles of sheer, fraying fabric sewn together.
These yellow ones were made the same way. (Confession, I actually made these clips a while back for Ruffles ‘n Such and thought they would be fun on these shoes.)
I also put the original bows on clips in case I miss them, or can wear the shoes plain without any embellishment. I’ve seen shoe clips at Joann’s, but bought mine on etsy.
(Want to participate in next week’s challenge? The theme is Hang it on the Wall.)
So how about you? How did you revamp a pair of shoes? Go ahead and link up. All I ask is that you help get the word out about this challenge and either link back using a text link, or the button (in my right side bar) somewhere on your blog, as well as be a Made it on Monday follower!
Thanks for joining in on the fun!
Hmmm, I haven't redone a pair of shoes- but that is a very good idea. I have some flip flops that could use some of this cuteness!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I bought a pair of shoes that are just sitting in my closet. I thought I'd wear them but it turned out they were too shiny for me. I'm not that bold. They have so much potential though so I'm going to make them a project this week using this as inspiration. Thanks for the gentle push. I'll be linking up later this week...if I don't destroy them in the process.
ReplyDeleteOkay, it's a stretch, but I'm linked!! I need to BUY some shoes before I can REVAMP them! lol
ReplyDeleteMy shoes are plain jane loafers for the most part, so I linked to an older project...a bit of a stretch (booties to skates), but hope it's okay.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh... I'm sorry that is so embarassing! I kept getting an error saying it wasn't going through (I even tried refreshing on another screen before I tried again submitting on the other!)
ReplyDeleteAgain I am sorry for the triple posting! :(
I also plan on doing a proper revamp of a shoe for your very cool challenge. Maybe I can finally use the shoe clips I brought (but of course have not yet used... at least I have until Monday!)
