Design for Shabby Apple

So I’m a little late to the party, but at least I made it, right? I was so excited when I saw Shabby Apple was having a design contest! I love Shabby Apple Dresses. So when the opportunity to possibly design one came up, I just couldn’t pass it up.

This dress is a soft pink with a pink lace overlay. It reminds me of something my grandma would have worn back in the 40’s or 50’s.

I wanted simple sleeves, so I made them capped. I love the way boat necks look with capped sleeves, so I made it wide with a few little pleats near the shoulders.

The front and back have darts, and there’s no slit in the skirt but still plenty of room to move.

A sweet ribbon belt with matching pink yo-yo’s added the perfect finishing touch.

I think this would look cute in any pastel color. Wouldn’t it be perfect for Easter?

  4. That is a terrific dress! I would so wear it. As I am not a pastel person, I sort of see it in navy. What do you think?
