12 by 2012

I was over at The Small Things Blog (Have you seen her blog? Um. LOVE it! She has the most incredible hair tutorials. Literally TRANSFORMED the way I style and now love my bangs.), and she shared about how Danni at Oh, hello friend (is that round about enough for you?) is doing a 12 by 2012 challenge. That’s making a list of 12 things to do by 2012. That’s in 11 weeks if you’re doing the math.

I’ve been lacking in the making-time-for-creativity department lately and I’m really missing it. Between needing to do some major praying and processing over some life stuff, getting sick and just plain busy, I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve consistently created.

So I’m stepping up to the challenge. And I’m telling you about it so I’ll have to do it! So here’s my 12:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

image1. Start/Finish a frame wall on one of the walls in my living room like Mandy’s at Sugar Bee Crafts

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

image2. Make a lace shirt. I’ve been loving lace for a while and this shouldn’t be hard to do.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

image3. Make Jace a set of Sesame Street or Brown Bear finger puppets like these I found on Etsy.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Try making this lace scarf, as well as make scarves from all the new fabric I got for my shop.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

image5. Make a sofa table like this one for my living room.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

image6. Pain my nails like these. I am in love with this color.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

image7. Actually make this jacket for myself. I already have the fabric. It’s cute. Just need to do it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

image8. Finish a gift I started for a friend’s birthday quite a while back. Inspired by this one.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

image9. Make a top like this one from a gray with purple pin dot fabric I already have.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

imageimage10. Make a sign like this one or this one for the other empty wall in my living room.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

2011-10-14 04411. Make felt paper dolls for my niece for her birthday or Christmas. She LOVED putting felt scraps on her princess finger puppets.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

2011-09-27 00512. Crochet Christmas gifts for the ladies in my family.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

How about you? If you were to do a 12 by 2012 what would be at the top of your list?

  1. I'm going to have to stop reading your blog. You've gotten me hooked on all these new blogs and you've turned me into a crocheting maniac with that cowl you CAL'd.

I guess at the top of my list would be learning to crochet and make myself a scarf. Or cowl...which I finished tonight (and then started a cuff in the same color).

I haven't had ANY time for creativity either. I like the idea of making a list because I like checking things off and that alone would motivate me to do it.

  2. My goodness, I already have a list a mile long that I need to get done! These look like great projects. I actually have a turtle neck that's too big that I want to refashion like the green striped shirt. We'll see how that turns out though ;)

  3. Great list of goals. I love all of the sewing projects that you have. Good luck getting everything checked off. I'm about to check one thing of my list. It feels so good to get things done that I've been meaning to get around to.
