Fall Refashions

I can’t even begin to tell you how many sewing project ideas I have floating around my head right now. And my glue gun is feeling severely neglected. Stacks of fabric sit in my craft room just waiting to be turned into something lovely or cute. Old cupboard doors are stacked in my garage, ready to be painted and displayed. And my living room walls are begging for the finishing touches I’ve been dreaming up.

But sometimes responsibility comes first. And then busyness takes over. And finally, a nasty head cold leaves me sitting on the couch, begging my toddler to please stop whining for juice/vitamins/whipped cream (seriously, he knows I have a can of whipped cream in the fridge for my coffee and begs for it by mimicking the sound it makes when you squirt the whipped cream). So for as much as I would LOVE to have something new to show you, I don’t. But I’ll keep pinning the inspiration I find and look forward to the day when I really do something.

In the mean time, here are some of my favorite cold weather refashions that I’ve done…

Thanks for stopping by! I look forward to having some fun, new projects to show you soon!

  1. I just sent the link to your turtleneck refashion to a blogger friend who is in a similar situation. Cheap turtleneck but doesn't like being strangled.

I have a wrap style sweater I love but it got stretched out in the wash and doesn't fit right anymore so I'm thinking of turning it into a cardigan. The wrapping parts of it are baffling me but cross your fingers I can figure it out. Eep.

  2. I used your turtleneck refashion idea on a turtleneck that I bought from Goodwill. The turtleneck is originally from American Eagle and I like the navy and white stripes, just not the turtleneck. I cut off the turtleneck and followed your steps for fixing the neckline. I'm really happy with how it turned out. And, my daughter claimed the turtleneck part that I cut off for a headband. She is 8 so it fits around her head just fine. We folded it in half first so it isn't too wide. It looks really cute on her. Thanks for the refashion idea!
