Ruffled Camera Strap

Happy Saturday! I can’t believe it’s the first of October. Before I get to showing you my newest accessory for my camera, I want to let you know about where I’m guest posting today! Andrea, from The Train to Crazy, is doing a great Handmade Dress Up Series. You can find me here today, sharing how to make this super cute and easy Yoda Costume Tutorial.

I’ve had an emotionally exhausting past two weeks and found that the best therapy has been crocheting my cowl and playing with Jace. I’m doing so much better now (amazing what some down time can do, huh?) and enjoyed some quality time with my sewing machine the other day.

A ruffled camera strap was the perfect way to get back into sewing.

I used a fun, multi color stripe for the casing and lens cap pocket (now if only I could find that lens cap…), and added a pink print ruffle topped with a aqua blue polka dot grosgrain ribbon (from Beautiful Additions).

It makes my camera so pretty! I didn’t follow a specific tutorial, but read through this one, this one, and this one before getting started. Now I just want to figure out how to do the same thing for my nametag lanyard for work!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

  1. When I saw the title of your post, I was hoping you actually meant a strap for your camera. This is so awesome! It looks great; such a personal touch.

  2. You should make a masculine version for Dad for Christmas! This is so cute. A lens cap pocket is such a good idea!

  3. After you posted a few weeks ago that a camera strap was on your list of projects to make...I was feeling crafty and was going to make one for my camera...too bad I didn't get too far. Yours turned out so cute! This is still on my list of things to make!!

  4. Guess it will keep Nolan from using your camera! :0) hehe!! Super cute!!

I appreciate comments so much! I'll do my best to reply to you here in the comments section, especially if there is a question so future readers can see the answer.
