Are you excited that Christmas is coming quickly? I’m sharing some of my homemade Christmas gift ideas over at Maybe Matilda’s Handmade Holidays. Head on over and check it out!
I’m almost done decorating our house for Christmas and I’m loving the cozy feeling it brings.
Jace loves the Christmas tree, or “Choo” as he calls it, and insists the lights be turned on immediately when we go downstairs in the mornings or arrive at home.
I tend to stay pretty traditional with our décor—a lot of reds, golds and greens. And I know that white lights are considered the most beautiful, but I love the warm glow that colored lights on the tree bring.
My mantel is the only place where I kind of spent money this year. After my garland fail I used a Joann’s gift card to buy the greenery and bead garlands. They added just the right amount of filler and a great pop of color.
The mantel décor is an assortment of red and gold ornaments in different sizes of jars and bowls, and then a jar full of wooden stick Santa ornaments that I found in one of our boxes of decorations. I’m not sure where they came from, but I love them!
I love our tree each year. It reminds me of my family tree growing up—warm colorful lights and ornaments with significance. I made our tree skirt a few years ago, and I can’t wait to get some presents under there. I think all trees look better with wrapped gifts under them.
Oh, and wanna get a bit real here? If you look in the reflection in my fireplace a few pictures up, you can kind of see just what my living room really looked like when these pictures were taken.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope your Christmas season is off to a good start!
