Jace may not have school teachers yet, but he has incredible volunteers who take care of him in the toddler class at church each week. I made some yummy goodies and then some simple drawstring bags to hold them in.
What I really should say is what should have been simple drawstring bags. These should have been a no-brainer for me. They were one of the first things I learned to sew back in junior high. But then when I sat down at my sewing machine, all proudly thinking I could make a great tutorial for all of you who say “If only I knew how to sew…” and I was at a complete loss for how to make this! I tried. And I tried. And I fumbled a lot. And finally I gave up and used google to find a simple drawstring bag tutorial. It was simple, just like it should have been all along. I don’t know what I was trying to do in the first place.
In each bag, I put three cellophane bags of treats—six oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (my favorite), a bunch of my peanutb-butter-free muddy buddies, and four cake-like-brownie treats. For those I followed this recipe for cake batter blondies (which are INCREDIBLE by the way), only I substituted a chocolate cake mix since that’s what I had on hand. I’m excited to have Jace give these treats away.
In other Christmas news, as I wrapped up what will probably be my last etsy orders of the season, I realized I should probably take a picture of the packaging I’ve been doing since I LOVE it. Back in this post I told you how I like to package my sales with love. Heading into the Christmas season I was so excited to get this green apple striped craft wrapping paper. It’s heavy duty and adorable. I’ve loved packaging all my orders in it and then wrapping them with a red bow. I’ve played with a few different ribbon types, and grosgrain has been my favorite. I then slip in a business card with a coupon code on it (this one is for a friend at church tomorrow, so it’s just her name so I can tell hers apart from the others). It’s fun to add sweet touches. Once Christmas is past I will use the same paper but with a bright pink ribbon instead.
How are your Christmas preparations coming? I was so happy today when I was able to go over my list of gifts left to make and check several of them off. That doesn’t mean I don’t have so many more to do still, but we’re getting there!
Thanks for stopping by!
Very cute bags! I'm always looking for new inspiration to wrap my goodies for my etsy shop too.
