DIY Spiderman Backpack

Almost exactly two years ago I added a felt Elmo face to a nice, yet boring, quality backpack (see original post HERE).

He has loved that backpack. We’ve used it well, carried it all sorts of things in it, taken it to 4 different states and even let it sit for a while thanks to an unnoticed leaky sippy cup of milk. But with all our shopping for the start of preschool, he began eyeing the super-cool-big-boy-backpacks in stores.

Knowing we still had a perfectly good backpack at home that would perfectly do the job of carrying spare clothes to and from preschool, we swung by Joann’s and picked up a Spiderman applique for less than $3 thanks to a coupon. I pulled Elmo off (and saved it for his baby book) and ironed/hot glued Spiderman on instead.

He LOVES his “new” Spiderman backpack!

Then and now… so sad, yet fun, to see how much he’s growing up!

Thanks for stopping by!
